Discussion of First Ideas

Here we are discussing the ideas we have all come up with for the outline of our film. We knew there would be a lot of similarity, because we talked about rough idea for a film plot before going off on our own to develop these individually. We thought it was important not to cme up with four entirely different plots as it would mean wasted effort on the behalf of three memberd of the group. However, we also thought it was important for us all to put our own thoughts forward so we could merge the best ones. This task was also interesting because it revealed that you can work to the same ideas but actually be thinking differently in terms of tone - this did emerge clearly from this discussion that although our plots sounded very similar on paper, the tone and style we were working to were quite different and it's good that we got to address this at an early stage.

  1. We've established now that we are going to be more selective on how many split screens we will use as they are difficult to do. We will instead alternate from split screens to a variety of normal view camera shots so that our aim of showing the opposition of the two main characters is still clear to the audience.
